New Phone Number

Roger & Bethany Have a new home phone number: 480-639-2179.

We finally got our magicJack hooked up with a phone to our computer, and oh my! I don't know why we didn't do it sooner. The phone itself works exactly the same as our land line, except it's through our high-speed internet, and for all local and long distance calling it runs about $20 a year. We actually purchased the $59 for 5-year plan plus the $40 magicJack itself, so it's the same $20/year including the one-time device that plugs into the USB port of our computer. We can also take it and the phone along on trips and get and receive calls the same as if we were home with our laptop.

So we are changing our Verizon cell phone use to just prepaid minutes and using it for away-from-home calls, and using the new home phone number for all calls we would make and receive at home. As far as we can tell right now it is going to save us over $80/month x 12 = at least $960 a year. I can think of many things to do with $960 that we were previously giving to Verizon!

From a Mom on this Mother's Day...

On this Mother's Day, I remember my mom, Gala, and rejoice that she is alive with Jesus, finally able to live the meaning of her name "happy time." I can't wait to be there too and get to know her better than I ever did on this imperfect earth.

I think about my mum, Shirley, who is a blessing in my life. I never am around her without learning something that enriches.

I think of my incredible sisters, Joy, Kokie, Mona, Jan, and Carla. Each of them have taught me in different ways about being a mother, a woman, and I treasure their lessons.

I think about my sons, Josh and Matt. God, thank you for these two young men I love so much. Please protect them. Wrap Your arms around them and help them realize how much they are loved; by me, but especially by You. Bless the work of their hands. Give them wisdom in their choices, and lead them into an eternal relationship with You in Jesus Christ.

God, on this Mother's Day I ask two gifts from You: Give me a forgiving and loving heart, and fill me with Your joy.
